location.
This Atlantic Tractor branch began as Jones and Groff
in 1932. Located
on High Street in
Cambridge,
Maryland
, it was primarily a welding shop that sold John Deere
equipment to help subsidize the business. Arthur Jones was
one of the original partners, and his son Donald, Sr. and 4
of his grand children are still active in the business
today. Over the
years, the John Deere part of their business took off,
allowing them to focus more on the dealership side. In 1960,
Jones and Groff (now renamed Jones Implement Co., Inc.)
relocated its business to Ocean Gateway (Route 50). In 1991, they made their latest move to their current
location on
Chateau Road
in East New Market, MD.
Jones Implement brought with it to the merger eight John
Deere Manager’s Club Awards and several Circle of
Excellence Awards. It
also brought to Atlantic Tractor an 80% customer allegiance
, a high absorption ratio, a general manager/owner group
with over 170 years of John Deere dealership experience and
a well-trained employee pool of 25 employees, with over 350
years of total John Deere work experience.
On October 15, 2004, Jones Implement Co., Inc. joined forces
with 10 other John Deere dealerships in the Delmarva and
southern
Pennsylvania
areas to form Atlantic Tractor, LLC.
Since the merger, Atlantic Tractor has put in place such programs as 24X7 parts and service for our agricultural and commercial customers, an extended 1 year parts warranty on Atlantic Tractor installed John Deere parts and extended seasonal store hours.
