During the week of 11 September 2023, John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group will make the Generation 4 23-2 software bundle available on StellarSupport. In this software bundle, you will find new features and functionality for fall harvest, fertilizer application, and work planning that gives our customers increased value with their John Deere Precision Ag technology.

About this release: The 23-2 software bundle release contains new features and functionality that customers will appreciate leading into the fall harvest and tillage season. Read about the software highlights below and get further information by listening to the 23-2 software bundle recording here.

Grain Harvest Technology Updates:
AutoTrac™ Turn Automation Now Compatible with John Deere Combines

Gen 4 23-2 display software now makes it possible for customers to experience AutoTrac™ Turn Automation (ATTA) with their Model Year 2012 (MY12) or newer John Deere combine with a Gen 4 display. The addition of ATTA to the current combine advanced guidance and automation technology suite (AutoPath™, Machine Sync, and In-Field Data Sharing) will increase an operation’s overall productivity through improved operator efficiency and consistency while decreasing user stress and fatigue throughout the entire harvest season.

Combine ATTA Supported Turn Patterns
Combines will support U-Turns, Spiral In, Spiral Out, as well as straight through and turn cancellation. These turn methods keep the combine unloading auger always over harvested rows for seamless unloading into a grain cart.

Combine ATTA Machine Compatibility
The included chart outlines the John Deere combines that are compatible with AutoTrac Turn Automation during this harvest season.

Grain Cart Enhancements:
Grain Cart Setup

Customers can now choose “Cart” for the profile name within the Implement Profile setup page. When “Cart” is selected as the profile name, Type of Equipment and Controller fields will automatically populate to speed setup time. Grain cart operators will enjoy the updated run page view that now includes accurate grain cart size and shape along with the location in the field.

Dry Box Spreaders and Floater Technology:
John Deere dry box spreaders and floaters with Gen 4 23-2 software will now be able to create a bled for dry product applications. This feature is similar to the tank mix feature in liquid applications.

Round Baler Technology:
Bale Doc

Gen 4 23-2 display software now makes it possible for customers with a new 1 Series Round Baler and G5e Display to document their baling passes in their John Deere Operations Center organization. The operator can easily monitor each bale from the cab of the tractor in real time while baling. By integrating this bale data with John Deere Operations Center, customers can now easily analyze yield by field per cutting to monitor if yield has decreased between cuttings and allow for changes to the irrigation cycle. Customers will find value through:

• Real-time, in-cab monitoring of bale weight and moisture creating more consistent high quality bales
• Ability to monitor and analyze yield per field per cutting in John Deere Operations Center and Operations Center Mobile
• Evaluate season-to-season data on perennial hay crops, so hay producers can make decisions to rotate crop ground or reseed if necessary

Data Sync Setup – New Features:
New to Data Sync Setup is the expanded offering of file types that are capable of being sent through Data Sync Setup. New with 23-2 software bundle, Data Sync Setup will automatically share variety locator files.

Enhanced Headland Management Functionality:
Enhanced Headland Management – Automation and Guidance Solutions
It is now easier than ever to setup headlands for your fields with the enhancements within the Gen 4 23-2 software bundle and John Deere Operations Center Land tool. Accurate headlands are needed to leverage many of the advanced guidance and automation features available in Automation 4.0. The updated functions in Land and the Gen 4 23-2 software allow you to manage headlands and share them across your fleet so you can:

• Reduce strain and fatigue on operators with AutoTrac™ Turn Automation
• Lower input costs with Section Control
• And much more

Seamlessly create, edit, view, and manage your headlands directly within Operations Center. There is no need to recreate them every time you head to the field. Automate in-cab processes by sending headlands to your machines with Work Planner, Data Sync Setup, and Setup File Creator. Start the field faster and take a load off the shoulders of your operators. Send your Land data and headlands wirelessly to your machines and with Work Planner the display will load the settings automatically.

Work Planner – New Functionality:
Operators will find it easier than ever to begin field work with Work Plans. Starting with the 23-2 software bundle, the machine operator will no longer be required to perform any screen clicks to setup work plans. All work plans are now automatically setup on the machine screen and work starts automatically when entering a field.
