Harvest and Connect Mobile iOS App From John Deere

Jun. 5 2019 Precision Ag Technology By ___

For years now, John Deere has been making huge strides in the field of agriculture technology. To this end, the company has released a mobile app to assist farmers by providing them with all the information they need to have exactly when they need to have it.

The Harvest Mobile app is an iOS app that connects farmers directly to their equipment so they can monitor each machine’s condition, optimize its performance and ensure that it operates at its peak ability. All S-Series combines made in and after 2016 have the necessary hardware installed to make running Harvest Mobile a cinch.

Atlantic Tractor, with locations throughout the states of Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware, stays up to date on the latest in agriculture technology so our customers can focus on what they do best: producing crops and tending to livestock. Fortunately, John Deere has helped us in this quest by making the integration of Harvest Mobile and the John Deere Connect Mobile app simple and quick. Read on to learn more about this new piece of farming software!

Monitoring Harvest Performance

When you have this handy app installed, you get the boon of a series of maps that will provide you with plenty of in-cab information. Harvest Mobile can document several pieces of data across many spectrums, like the ground speed of a combine as it moves across the field, moisture measurements of targeted areas, dry yield and wet yield measurements. Each of these convenient attributes can be displayed as a dashboard and map layer over your field to give you the latest data.

Integrating With Existing Technology

The new Harvest Mobile app works in conjunction with the GreenStar™ 3 (GS3) 2630 Display or the 4600 CommandCenter™ display, the Harvest Doc™ mapping system and your combine’s controller software in order to enhance your experience as you harvest your crops. Use your iPad tablet to display essential data and let the GS3 2630 Display instantly send setup information and relevant GPS data directly to your tablet and the server.

All combines manufactured after 2018 process this data using the 4600 CommandCenter™ display to reduce how many steps operators have to perform. This also helps to ensure data accuracy with the John Deere StarFire™ 3000 or 6000 receivers.

Using Field Review

Operators can glean new insights about their harvesting practices using the Field Review function in this app. View harvest maps of any field and get your harvest data from your iPad no matter where you are. Field Review allows you to select a particular field and overlay up to four maps on top of it. You’ll be able to scout your fields both during and after the harvest to determine which areas are performing higher or lower than others.

Interactive Combine Adjustment

Another handy function of the Harvest Mobile app is the Interactive Combine Adjustment or ICA. This helps operators to boost both their daily and their seasonal productivity to improve efficiency. Select your harvest outcome priority order with the visual interface and identify any issues that need adjusting to optimize your harvest.

ICA can recommend certain adjustments based on your combine settings, self-reported issues and your own harvesting priority input. Selecting a recommendation results in an instant adjustment by ICA, immediately improving performance.
